Curtis Harding from Atlanta played in various bands, was in the gospel choir with his sister and mother and recorded his solo debut "Soul Power" more or less on the side. In 2014, with a mixture of soul, blues, garage, gospel, disco and funk, it not only delighted audiences and critics ("the artist you need to know"), but also found prominent fans in Iggy Pop and Jack White. The "Rolling Stone" prophesied a great future - and with his second album Harding can confirm this premature praise. On "Face Your Fear," Harding delves deep into the Sixties, conjuring up the ghosts of Otis Redding, Curtis Mayfield, Sam Cooke, Bo Diddley and B.B. King. Like the big Motown stars of the sixties, he manages to transform lived pain and true joy into a sound that opens the heart of every listener. Fortunately, he manages to do this in his own unique way: to provide the soul spirit with new energy in the here and now without following in well-trodden artistic footsteps. The "NME" found the paraphrase "soul meets garage pop perfection". Face Your Fear was produced by Harding in New York with the support of his two friends Sam Cohen and Danger Mouse.
