Glen Hansard convinces in a large ensemble just as well as alone. The Irishman, who once became known as the leading actor and film music composer in "Once", is now releasing his third solo album. "Between Two Shores" shows the singer-songwriter in top form again. Hansard has never taken it easy on his career that has spanned more than two decades. His passionate songs usually move between the exhausting struggle to find a professional form for them and the no less grueling conflict of not losing romantic affection in the process. He already explored the themes with his previous bands The Frames and Swell Season, which he then deepened on the two previous releases "Rhythm and Repose" (2012) and "Didn't He Ramble" (2015). Glen Hansard has won both an Academy Award and multiple Tony Awards for his work on Once, his play Falling Slowly won an Academy Award for Best Song in 2007, and the accompanying musical received eight Tony Awards. The Irishman has sold over two million albums worldwide to date.
